Needless to say that this mod is a must-have for all those who want as many particles effects in their games as possible. As such, you can expect better effects when fighting enemies like the Arachasae, Cyclopes or Giants. Moreover, this mod allows particles to collide/interact with other objects/enemies. Furthermore, this mod also increases the particle count of other effects such as blood, snow, smoke, explosions and PhysX APEX destruction. As such, Igni, Aard, Quen and Yrden look more powerful than before.

In addition, this mod makes all effects look “flashier” by increasing their particle count. For example, fog, dust, sparks, smoke, blood and explosions are now influenced by the wind. The Witcher 3’s Improved Particles System mod allows numerous particles to be affected by the wind. Impressed by it, MrMan01 decided to create a new one that would overhaul the game’s particles system.

This mod is based on another mod that was created to make the firestream form of Igni influenced by the wind. Yet unfortunately, due to such an oversight I do think it's more valuable to attempt to smooth the gameplay's edges with nerfs/buffs now despite the encroachment upon these now set expectations rather than let the game not live up to its potential for what I believe would be the majority opinion.Modder ‘MrMan01’ has released a new mod that improves the particles effects system of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. By doing it properly then, the gameplay expectations of super powerful Igni's/Firestreams would have never been set for those who share your opinion. IMHO they needed more balance testing to determine healthy levels of damage output for abilities and settled on appropriate magnitudes then, not fiddle with it now. Really it's an issue that should have been addressed pre-launch. Yet I'm sure there are many others, such as yourself, who take up the other side of the debate which is certainly fine. As previously noted, I personally welcome changes to abilities if it promotes a more well-rounded challenge/gaming experience. That being said, it seems this is simply an issue with whether the devs should be making changes to promote balance or if it's wrong to do so as it alienates a subset of players who have become accustomed to certain gameplay expectations. You are certainly entitled to your opinion. If that's not your goal then no problem whatsoever. But I do agree with your first statement as my goal would certainly be better balance. I wouldn't go as far to say what I think is irrelevant it's definitely relevant if the goal is better game balance as that's what the facts and my assertions are meant to support. Many of us actually enjoy fighting awesome and powerful monsters at the end of a contract that take more than a wink and a nudge to slay them. Standard Igni as it is and Firestream as it was are both examples of abilities that are/were far stronger than their damage dealing counterparts. I welcome balance changes whether it be via nerf or buff, whatever it takes to achieve "reasonable levels of balance". If anything is arbitrary it's that assertion right there. For example, the Whirl Facerolling is also clearly an issue but why not make the animation and attack stop once your stamina is depleted? How can Geralt keep going ape-shit hurricane with his stamina completely gone? It's also a slippery-slope fallacy to suggest that because a few unbalanced abilities still need to be addressed that all the fun will be completely sucked out of the game if they are nerfed. Ideally all balance issues would be addressed and corrected accordingly. Lastly, your reasoning is fallacious by assuming since the game still has other issues we should allow other imbalanced abilities to remain also. You really think it makes sense to able to 3 shot an enemy that is marked with a red skull icon meant to indicate you have little-to-no chance of even defeating this opponent? How does that even follow? This means it feels more in line with other abilities in the game by doing "reasonably comparable" damage (quotes added to avoid another misquote) considered in conjunction with other factors such as that Firestream can't be blocked or parried like a melee attack, etc.Īlso, what I meant about my comment on playing GOD mode was derived from the video you yourself linked where the guy uses 3 standard Igni's to kill a "Red Skull" which was also a town guard for that matter.
WITCHER 3 FIRESTREAM NOT WORKING PLUS
Plus if you read what I actually wrote instead of twisting it to say what you want it to say, I wrote "rather balanced".
